The Voicemail action lives inside a workflow's Call actions. Instead of placing a live call, it delivers a prerecorded audio file directly to voicemail through the contact's phone number. You upload the recording once and reuse it across any workflow that needs to reach someone by voice without tying up a person's time on the phone.
This matters most for follow-up sequences where a text alone feels cold and a live call is not practical, like a missed call, a stale lead, or a no-show reminder. A short, personal-sounding voicemail dropped automatically often gets a callback that a generic text does not, and it costs your team nothing in dial time.
The caveat is that quality depends entirely on the recording. Keep it under thirty seconds, say the business name early, and give one clear next step, like calling back or replying to the text that follows. Pair the voicemail action with a follow-up SMS action a few minutes later so the lead has an easy way to respond in writing if they missed the call.
How to use it
- Open the workflow and click Add Action
- Choose the Voicemail action under Call actions
- Upload your prerecorded audio file to the action
- Place the action after a Missed Call or No Answer trigger
- Add a follow-up SMS action right after it and test the sequence
