Text2Pay: Collect a Payment With a Text Instead of an Invoice
Skip the full invoice flow and send a one-time payment request by text or email that a client can pay in one tap.
Text2Pay is a payment tool inside GoHighLevel that lets you request money without building a formal invoice first. You pick a contact, enter an amount, and send a payment link straight to their phone or inbox. The client taps the link, enters their card, and the payment posts to your connected processor.
This matters for service businesses that collect money on the spot: a technician finishing a repair, a groomer at pickup, a contractor closing out a small job. Instead of emailing an invoice and waiting, you send the request while you are still standing in front of the client, and the payment shows up in your account before you leave the driveway.
The one thing to set up first is your payment processor. Text2Pay only works once you have connected Stripe (or your supported processor) under Payments, so if you have never finished that connection, the send option will not appear. Once it is connected, Text2Pay sits right alongside Invoices in the Payments menu, and you can use either tool depending on whether the job needs a paper trail or just a fast collection.
How to use it
- Go to Payments > Integrations and confirm Stripe is connected
- Go to Payments > Text2Pay
- Select the contact and enter the amount to collect
- Send the request as SMS, email, or both
- Check Payments > Transactions to confirm it was paid
