Set a Time Window So Workflows Never Text Outside Quiet Hours

A workflow setting called Time Window lets you cap the hours and days a workflow is allowed to send, so late-night texts stop happening automatically.

Every workflow in GoHighLevel has a settings panel with a Time Window option. Turn it on and you can restrict the whole workflow to specific days and a start and end time, for example Monday through Friday, 8 am to 8 pm. Any contact who enters the workflow outside that window waits until it opens again instead of getting a message right then.

This matters because most quiet hours complaints do not come from a bad campaign, they come from a normal workflow, like a review request or a follow up sequence, firing at 11 pm because a lead filled out a form late. Setting the window once at the workflow level protects every contact who passes through it, no matter when they trigger it.

The caveat: the Time Window applies to that specific workflow, not to your sub-account or your whole messaging system, so you still need to check it on each workflow that sends SMS or makes calls. If you run several outreach workflows, go through them one at a time and confirm the window is set before you assume you are covered.

How to use it

  1. Open the workflow and click the gear icon for Settings
  2. Enable Time Window under the workflow settings
  3. Set the allowed days and start and end times
  4. Save and republish the workflow
  5. Repeat for every workflow that sends SMS or calls

Who it helps

Agencies and service businesses that text or call leads across different time zones or after hours.

Related: Quiet hours enforcement is part of the same compliance picture as A2P registration and carrier approval.

Add an SMS Consent Checkbox to Your Forms Before You Text Leads

A checkbox field on your intake form can document real SMS consent, which protects your A2P registration and keeps texts from getting filtered.

Manual Call actions: a dialer queue your workflow builds for the team

A workflow can pause and queue a contact for a human call, so the phone step in your follow-up is a task list the team works through, not a message the lead ignores.

Custom Values: write your business details once, use them everywhere

A custom value is a variable you can drop into any workflow, email, text or funnel, so a changed phone number or offer is updated in one place instead of forty.
